IR2009-1/06 .Health requirements for Import non-pregnant HEIFER from the USA into I.R.IRAN

A. General Requirements & Conditions
1. The cattle must be non-pregnant heifer aged less than 24 months.
2. All of the cattle should be identified by a permanent identification system enabling them to be traced back to the dam and herd of origin and be accompanied by original or a copy of their passports.
3. Before leaving the country, the cattle have to undergo an observation period in an approved assembly centers prior to embarkation for inspection and checking the results of prescribed tests. The cattle intended for export to the Iran should not get in contact with cattle of different health status in that period and also during transportation.
4- All procedures (include selection of cattle, inspection, checking the test results, transportation and so on) must be checked by IVO representative during observation period and related documents should be verified and endorsed by him.
B. Certification Statements
For each consignment a certificate must be issued by official veterinary authority, attesting following statements and requirements:
1. Health status of USA
1. 1 According to the standards of the international animal health Code of OIE, USA is recognized as a country free of foot-and-mouth disease (FM D) without vaccination as well as free of Rinderpest and contagious bovine pleuropneumonia. 1. 2 With respect to bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE):
a) The United States of America is recognized as a country with a controlled BSE risk and complies with the conditions referred to in Article 11.6.4. of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
b) Surveillance for BSE in the United States meets or exceeds OIE guidelines.
c) The feeding to ruminants of most material containing ruminant protein, including ruminant meat -and- bone meal and greaves, has been prohibited in the United States since August 1997
d) None of the cattle for export has been linked to a herd with a confirmed case of BSE.
e) The cattle selected for export were born after the date from which the ban on the feeding of ruminants with meat-and-bone meal and greaves derived from ruminants was effectively enforced.
2. Health status of the herd of origin
The cattle come from a herd of origin which:
2.1 have been free of vesicular stomatitis, bovine tuberculosis and bovine brucellosis for last 12 months 3. Health status of the cattle
The cattle for export into I.R.IRAN: 3.1 were inspected and found free from evidence of mycoplasma mastitis and, according to the best knowledge and belief of the certifying veterinarian, the cattle originated from premises were no case of mycoplasma mastitis have been known to occur in the past 12 months.
3.2 The cattle were inspected within 30 days prior to export and found to be free from clinical evidence of communicable diseases.
4. Vaccinations and treatments
The following vaccinations and treatments have been administered to the cattle intended for exported to Iran during the past thirty days:
4.1 Within 30 days prior to embark, the cattle were inspected and treated for internal and external parasites on ______________(date) with: _______________________(name of the product).
4.2 The cattle were vaccinated for the following diseases within 60 days before embarkation:
5. TEST REQUIREMENTS The cattle for export to Iran were tested as prescribed below during the thirty days before embark, with negative results. All serological and microbiological tests performed at a laboratory recognized by USDA
