The Iranian Quarantine and Inspection Service (IQIS) is part of the Iranian Veterinary Organization (IVO) which is being affiliated to Jihad- Agriculture Ministry.
. Since IVO is a multi-faceted Administration with a broad vision & mission in I.R. Iran that includes protecting & promoting Iran animal health. In this term one of the milestone sections of IVO is quarantine & inspection service.IQIS manages quarantine controls at our borders to minimize the risk of exotic animal and zoonotic diseases entering the country. As well as she implements within the country as far as regional and high risk area. IQIS also provides import and export inspection and certification to help retain Iranian highly favorable animal and human health status As international travel has become easier, the job of keeping I. R. Iran free of unwanted animal pests and safe food has become more demanding. IQIS continuously looks to improve the effectiveness of the quarantine effort by working closely with other areas within I.R. Iran authority to manage Iran's biosecurity system. We also work closely with other Iranian Government agencies—such as Iranian Customs and Border Protection Police, Internal Police, Ministry of State, Ministry of Health, Therapeutic and Medical Training, Iranian Standards Department and 31 provinces within the country —to support their management of post-border detections and incursions of quarantine diseases, and to support our own verification and certification activities for all commodities and food products. The second minor tasks & duties of IQIS is being international affairs. |
